Funeral services for Gordon G. Tarver will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 15, 2015 in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel with Reverend Greg Willis officiating.

Military rites will be conducted by Fort Polk Honor Guard.

Committal service will follow in the Cryer Cemetery under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale.

Gordon, 93, of LeBlanc, entered eternal rest on Saturday, December 12, 2015 in Walker. He was born September 11, 1922 in Oakdale to the union of Willis C. Tarver and Iris Audrey (Miller) Tarver.

He was a United States Veteran serving both in the Army and Air Force.

He was a Master Mason and member of Elton Masonic Lodge 270. He retired from Armco in Houston, Texas as a steel worker. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Verna Tarver; his parents; three brothers, Bill Tarver, Curney Tarver, and Warren Tarver; two sisters, Nell Hallmark and Neda Robison.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are: one son, Glen Tarver of Tyler, Texas; one daughter, Colynn Marsch of North Carolina; one brother, Jimmy Tarver of Denham Springs; one sister, Margie Collins of Conroe, Texas; niece, Ida Faye “PeeWee” McGray of Oakdale; cousins and special caregivers, Marlene Berard and Nichole Reider of Walker; one grandchild; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be held in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel, Monday, December 14, 2015 from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m., then on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. in the chapel.
