Mrs. Ella Irene Acklin, 86, died March 25, 2001 at National Health Care, West Plains, MO. She was born Dec. 7, 1914 near White Church, the daughter of John 'Al' Albert and Della (Songer) Nolte. On March 7, 1932, she was married at Salem, AR to Isaac F. Carter, who preceded her in death in 1945. On Nov. 12, 1969 she was married to Lee Ander Acklin who preceded her in death July 28, 1979.
Mrs. Acklin was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include three children, Evelyn Adams of Avondale, MO; Ronnie Carter of Springfield, MO; and Paul Carter of Holts Summit, MO; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lucille Coble of West Plains, MO; Ethel Nelson of West Plains, MO; Pearl Brown of Elkland, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, and several brothers and sisters.
The body will lie in state today and Tuesday at the Robertson Drago Funeral Home. Graveside services will be March 27, 2001, at Dripping Springs Cemetery, with David Ball officiating, under the direction of Robertson Drago Funeral Home of West Plains, MO.
