Wayne M. Knight, 61, of Richmond died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003, at his residence. He was born in Fredericksburg on Nov. 14., 1942. He was a member of Goshen Baptist Church in Spotsylvania. He was a graduate of the University of Richmond and also of Boston College, where he earned a master's in education, specializing in orientation and mobility for the blind. He retired after 35 years in education, 28 of which were spent at the Virginia Rehabilitation Center for the Blind.
Mr. Knight was predeceased by his father, Arthur S. Knight. He is survived by his partner in life, Marie Moore of Richmond; his mother, Florence J. Knight Talley of Colonial Beach; his brothers, Rodney S. Knight and his wife, Sue, of Waynesboro, Randall I. Knight of San Fransisco, Calif., and Ricky D. Knight and his wife, Kim, of Richmond; one niece; two nephews; one great-niece; and six great-nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at Wilderness Baptist Church, Spotsylvania.
The family will receive visitors from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, at Johnson Funeral Home, Locust Grove.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to St. Mary's Bon Secours Hospice, 8580 Magellan Park, Building 4, Richmond, Va. 23227.
