In the Service of Our Country
Private Charles H. Kain, son of Mr. and Mrs. John J. Kain of 94 Abruyn street, is with Company L, 310th Infantry, at Camp Dix. He left for Camp Dix with the Ulster County contingent on December 29, 1917. He is now doing army cooking and has been promoted to cook. Private Kain is a butcher by trade and before entering the army was employed in the Adirondack Mountains. He also worked for several of the local merchants. He has a host of friends who wish him success.

Charles H. Kain of Ponckhockie and Martha A. L. Krenze of 166 Foxhall Avenue were married Sunday afternoon (27th) at 2:30 o’clock at the Spring Street German Lutheran Church by the pastor, the Rev. A. Schmidtkonz. They were attended by Fred J. Haas and Amanda Haas and a small number of friends witnessed the ceremony. A wedding luncheon was later served at the home of the bride.

KAIN – In this city, October 24, 1922, Charles H. Kain, died at his late residence, 166 Foxhall Avenue.
Funeral will be held Friday, October 27, from the Spring Street Lutheran Church at 2:30 p.m. Relatives and friends invited to attend. Interment in Montrepose Cemetery.
