Margaret (Margie) Garner a resident of Richardson, Texas passed from this
life and joined her Savior on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at the age of 95. She
was born on January 8, 1920 in Depew Creek County, Oklahoma to Ross and
Lucy (Conrad) James. Margie married A.L. Garner in Jonesboro, Georgia on
October 11, 1973.
Margie was a member of the Baptist faith. She worked as a waitress for many
years. Margie and her husband A.L. owned a gas station in Richardson, Texas.
She enjoyed writing.
Mrs. Garner is survived by her; son, Paul Thomas Bowen of Phoenix, Arizona
sister, Patsy Hughes of Dallas, Texas; step-children, Barbara Gail Wood of
Balch Springs, Texas, A.L. (Skipper) Garner, Jr. of Balch Springs, Texas and
Charles (Chuck) Garner; nephews, Mike Hughes of Garland, Texas, Ronald
Hughes of Clemson, South Carolina, Edward Cain of Robstown, Texas, Allen
James of Elsa, Texas, George Ray Richardson of Atlanta, Georgia and Terry
Moore of Canton, Texas; nieces, Sheryl James of Edinburg, Texas, Thelma
Lowery of Midland, Texas, Lenora Angel of Cottonwood, Arizona, Lila

Mrs. Garner was preceded in death by her parents, Ross and Lucy James;
husbands, A.L. Garner and Al Brooks; brother, Ray James; sisters, Launa
White, Elsie Malone and Edna Moore.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 1-2:00 PM (before the service)
on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at the Holmes ~ Coffey ~ Murray Funeral
Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM at
the Albany Cemetery/Garner Family Cemetery in Albany with Rev. Ron
Hughes officiating.
