Mike Kern, 60, of Valley View passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family Wednesday, May 22, 2013. Memorial service: 10 a.m. Friday at Cross Timbers Community Church, Denton Campus, 312 W. McKinney St., Denton. Mike was a registered professional land surveyor for 30 years. He owned Kern Surveying in Krum until his retirement in 1999. During the past few years, Mike had enjoyed traveling with his wife, rebuilding vintage cars and drag-racing. Survived by his wife of 24 years, Patsy Kern; his children and spouses, Rachel and Chad Corbin, Dean and Amy Kern, Jonnie and Chris Roach, and Jason McCleary; mother, Myrt Kern; siblings, Lynne and Art Chapman, David and Charlsa Kern, and Matt and Debbie Kern; and seven grandchildren. They will all anxiously await their heavenly reunion with Mike.
