Per her wishes, cremation rites were accorded and there were no services. Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., Orion, assisted the family with arrangements.
Barb was born on August 22, 1939, in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of Arthur Floyd and Marie Kathryn Hinkel Gravitt. She married Marvin Lee Swanson on June 6, 1959, in Milan, Illinois.
Barb was an exceptional seamstress and baker. She was known for her world's flakiest crust, coffee cakes, and cookies. She loved children, especially helping those in need.
She was survived by: her husband, Marvin; daughters, Lisa (Keith) Samuelson and Lynn Swanson; grandson, Alex Samuelson; granddaughter, Anna Marie Samuelson; and siblings, Janice (Dick) Seibert, Rich (Pat) Gravitt, Marge (Jerry) Maddox, and Sandy (Don) Metzner.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Arthur Eugene "Gene" Gravitt and Michael Wayne "Mike" Gravitt.
