Maryalice met future husband Don when he came to Palestine and played drums in the Greenville Community Band which was performing an evening concert. Maryalice and Don were married in July 1952 just a month after she graduated from Palestine High School. They settled in Palestine and eventually bought the house next door to her parents. They were the proud parents of 4 children: Rick, Dave, Scott and Melody. Don and Maryalice had 9 grandchildren and there are 12 great-grandchildren. Don passed away in February 2008.
Maryalice was always active in her community & county. Maryalice worked over 30 years at Fram. She was elected the Clerk of Liberty Township and held that office for over thirty years. While clerk she was elected the secretary of the Darke County Township Association. Maryalice always had a love for quilts and was a member of the Towne Squares Quilt Club. She operated "Pap and Granny's Quilt Shop" in Palestine from 1993 till closing in 2006.
Above all, family meant much to Maryalice. She came to almost every ballgame in which her children and grandchildren played. She attended concerts, operas, plays, banquets, award ceremonies and retirement parties.
