He portrayed the famed composer Puccini in two films and after several romantic performances, gained a reputation in Italy for playing "suave and debonair" leading men. Among Ferzetti's other classic roles included playing a "oversexed restless" playboy in the 1960 film " L'Avventura", Lot in the 1966 epic "The Bible: In the Beginning...", the railroad baron Morton in "Once Upon a Time in the West", James Bond's father-in-law Marc Ange Draco in "On Her Majesty's Secret Service", and the psychiatrist in the classic film "The Night Porter". He continued to act in films and on television (in various television series) up until 2010. Ferzetti also performed in theatrical productions from time to time.
