Mrs. Emma M. Bloyer, 78, 8115 N. 2nd St., died at 1:15 p.m. Friday in her home following a brief illness.

Mrs. Bloyer was born Nov. 12, 1872, in Savanna, the daughter of Pliney and Mary Jane Taylor. She was married to Clarence M. Bloyer Nov. 14, 1894, and the couple came to Rockford in 1906 to make their home. Mrs. Bloyer was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church; Daughters of the American Revolution; Rockford Chapter No. 53, Order of Eastern Star; Oriental Shrine, White Shrine of Jerusalem; and a life member of Help-One-Another circle of the Harlem community.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Uveta F. Doherty, 512 Francis Ave., Loves Park; a son, Harold T. Bloyer, with whom she made her home at the N. 2nd st. address. She is survived by three granddaughters, five grandsons, a brother, Raymond E. Taylor, Hollywood Cal.; and several nieces and nephews. Her husband died in October, 1940.

Services for Mrs. Emma M. Bloyer, 8115 N. 2nd St., who died Friday afternoon in her home, were held at 1:30 p.m. today in the Burpee-Wood Funeral Home, 420 N. Main St. The Rev. Kenneth J. Allen, rector of St. Chad's Episcopal Church, officiated. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. Rites were conducted by members of Rockford chapter, No. 53, Order of the Eastern Star.
