CHARLES BENJAMIN SLUSSER III, born May 13, 1947, in Louisville, KY, to Charles Benjamin Slusser Jr. and Minnie Frances Paxton Slusser, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 15, 2015 after a long battle with cancer.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the United Stated Air Force as an aircraft mechanic.
While stationed in Texas in 1967, he met and married his sweetheart, Margarita Medrano, in New Braunfels. They had two sons and one daughter.
He was a businessman for many years in New Braunfels, where he previously owned and operated the Gulf Gas Station and Charlie's Automotive/ Machine shop.
He will be missed greatly by family and friends who knew and loved him. His family called him Junnie. He had a big heart and would do anything for others. He loved cars and building engines. He loved the Lord Jesus with all his heart, devoting his time to serving the Lord and helping build his home church in Spring Branch, Texas. One thing he loved the most in life was spending time with his children and grandchildren, who loved the stories he shared with them about his childhood and life. He loved to tease and play with them. Those memories will be cherished forever.
He is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Margarita, and his three children: Charles Benjamin "Benny" Slusser IV and his wife, Chandra Plummer Slusser; Melinda Dawn Slusser Rippy and her husband, Gabriel Rippy; and Christopher William Slusser. He leaves a strong legacy based on the teachings of Jesus Christ to his children and his beloved eleven grandchildren: Taylor Elise, Miranda Grace, Luke Benjamin, Kaela Marie, Marnie Elaine, Alanna Nicole, Charlee Alivia, Niki Alexandra, Davin Hali, Zoey Nova, and Lexi Azaela.
He is also survived by his four sisters and three brothers: Charlotte Fenster, Elaine Slusser, Patricia Aldridge, Janice Hearn, Joseph Slusser, Paul Slusser, and Mark Slusser.
