One of the finest fathers I've known. I'm fortunate to the nth degree. He is in my heart.

Mr. Robert Broughton Henry, Jr., Marietta native, aka "Snake Hips," devoted father, doting grandfather, and fun loving friend of many, died in Dunwoody, GA.... He enjoyed and appreciated his son's music, daughter-in-law's loving care, his grandson's fun spirit, his sister's wit, his niece's singing, Chet Atkins, guitars, cowboy movies, Waffle House, and helping others relax and laugh. Mr. Henry was quite the storyteller. He was immensely proud of his son's music, his sister's many strengths, his niece's voice, and the sense of humor they each possessed. Like his Dad, he enjoyed gardening and working outdoors. One of his favorite activities was also taking care of animals, and making sure the deer and hummingbirds were fed. In recent years he became interested in his family history and volunteer work. Mr. Henry, Jr. served as a Staff Sergeant in the Georgia Air National Guard (1965-1971), was a member of the Freemasons and the Shriners and fuel tanker driver for Wallace Oil Company. Mr. Henry is predeceased by his father Robert B. Henry, Sr. and mother Mary Alice (Hanna) Henry. Mr. Henry leaves behind his Son..., Grandson..., Sister..., Niece..., adored daughter in law, and his best friend Chryse Wayman. All believe he helped hang the moon and stars. He wanted everyone to be strong and move forward with courage and happiness. Memorial Service will be 1 PM Saturday November 21, 2015 in the Chapel of Carmichael Funeral Home in Marietta. The family and Chryse received friends from Noon until service time on Saturday.
