Herman Eugene Abbott 89, of Spencer, WV passed away Friday, November 13, 2015 at Roane County General Hospital.
He was born November 28, 1925 in Lincoln County. Herman was the son of the late Fred and Lottie Vickers Abbott. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Charles, Don, Homer Carl ; sisters Gladys, Irene and Iola.
Surviving are his daughters, Eujeana Scott; grandsons Jeremy (Kim) Blackwell and Adam (Brooke) Scott; great grandchildren, Ashtin George, Zaiah Blackwell, Gavin Blackwell, Aidan Blackwell, Meckenzie Blackwell, Blake Scott and Ava Scott. Herman is also survived by brother Cleo (Maggie) Abbott of Alkol; sisters Emma Jean Keffer of Huntsville, AL and Eloise (Arthur) Thompson of Alkol.
He was a loving and caring husband, a devoted father, grandfather and brother who will always be remembered by all those he touched in life.
He served in World War II as a hospital orderly. He worked on gas wells and Purity Maid Baking Company (Flowers).
A special thanks to the staff at Miletree Nursing Home who provided such a high level of care and compassion during his stay there.
Service will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Hafer Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation will be 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service.
