Hilda Revere Duncan age 93 passed from this life on November 8, 2015 at the home of her daughter after a long illness. She was born on November 11, 1921 in Warsaw, VA to the late Henry Revere and Mary Lee Hall Revere. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Britt Duncan; three brothers, Henry Revere, Paul Revere and Ralph Revere. Hilda served in the U.S. Army as a clerk typist for the Women's Army Corps during World War II. She received a secretarial diploma in 1950 from Strayer College. Her work history also included the Pentagon, the Northern Neck Cooperative and Belk stores. In her retirement years, Hilda served as a volunteer for the Northern Neck VFW Auxiliary, the Richmond County Museum, Meals on Wheels, Hospice, the Salvation Army and as a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Extension Homemakers Club. She was a member of Sparta Presbyterian Church and previously of Warsaw Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Wade and husband Stanley of Waynesboro, PA and Barbara Avery and husband Robert of Robersonville, NC; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Margueite Mahoney of Warsay, VA; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family requests the honor of your presence at the graveside service to honor the life of Mrs. Duncan at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Sparta Cemetery.
