Kenneth B. Saunders, 83, a resident of Cleveland, Tennessee passed away Friday, June 14, 2013, in a Dunlap health facility. He was a native of Haywood County, NC. He was a pilot who instilled the love of flying in his entire family, especially his children. He honorably served 12 years in the United States Navy and later was employed by Bowaters where he was a member of the Brotherhood of Pulp and Papermasters. Preceding him in death was his wife, Reba "Curl" Evans Saunders, and his parents, Robert "Bob" L. Saunders and Cora Kinsland Saunders of Canton, NC. He is survived by two children; his son Randy Saunders and wife Lynn, and his daughter Karen Saunders Smith. He is also survived by four grandchildren; Chad Smith, Christopher Smith, Casey Saunders, Abby Saunders and one great-grandchild, Cade Smith. There was a private family service held on Monday, June 17, 2013, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home officiated by Chaplain Jack Nichols.
