He was born in Stockton to Antone Freitas and Mary Avila Freitas. He lived in Oakdale for 49 years.
He attended Stockton High School and the University of Wisconsin.
Mr. Freitas was a veteran of World War II. He was the owner operator of C & F Livestock, a livestock hauling business, for 50 years.
He was a member of VFW Post #2922, the California Team Ropers Association, California Trucking Association, USS James Owens Association, and the Oakdale Cowboy Museum.
He is survived by his wife, Sara Freitas of Oakdale; son, Allan (Norma) Freitas, Jr. of Oakdale; stepchildren, Dennis Navarro of Reno, NV, Roxane Navarro of South Carolina, Lori Stramaglia of Oakdale, and Joseph Navarro of Oakdale; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four sisters; five brothers; and one grandson.
No visitation. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 6 at Oakdale Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Oakdale Citizens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in his name to Community Hospice or to the Oakdale Cowboy Museum.
