Barbara Ann Massengill Amererson
October 11, 1942 – November 4, 2015

Barbara Ann Massengill Amerson, 73, of Hookerton passed away Wednesday. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Black Creek Cemetery, Black Creek. Ted Sauls will officiate.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home.

Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a friend to all that knew her; she will be greatly missed and thought of often with loving memories and smiles that will warm the heart. She was an expert bowler, and she loved to read and scrapbook. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and family and fishing with her grandchildren.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband of fifty-two years, John Hyman Amerson of the home; her daughter, Tina A. Jernigan and husband, James Albert and their children, Neil Jernigan and wife, Candace, and Tyler Jernigan all of Snow Hill, and daughter, Kathy A. Stocks, and her children, Luke Stocks and Jake Stocks all of Hookerton.
