Mr. David B. Harris, 82, died Monday, November 2, 2015.
The funeral service will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Pinewood Memorial Park.
Mr. Harris, a native of Greene County, lived the majority of his life in Pitt County.
A 1952 graduate of Bell Arthur High School, he served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a founding member of the Bell Arthur Fire and Rescue, served on the Pitt County Planning Board and the Bell Arthur Water Corporation Board. Mr. Harris was a member of the Arthur Christian Church where he served as a deacon.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Trilby Harris in 2011.
He is survived by his son, David B. “Ben” Harris, Jr. and wife, Kathleen; grandchildren, Elizabeth Harris and Thomas Harris; all of Bell Arthur; and step-grandchildren, Christy Woody, of Greensboro, and Nicholas Dunn, of Bell Arthur; and two brothers, Jinnis Harris and wife, Juanita, of Bell Arthur and Jesse Harris and wife, Marsha, of Tarboro.
The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
