Silver Wedding Event Held For Residents Of St. Petersburg

Fifty-one persons including the nine children of the honored couple gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Nevel at St. Petersburg recently in observance of their silver wedding anniversary. A picnic dinner was served from a table in the grove adjoining the home. The table was centered with a large cake, a gift of the couple's daughters. Mr. Nevel, who has been afflicted with arthritis for many years and for the past two years has been unable to sit up, enjoyed the social event from his cot which was placed at the scene. He was presented with a purse of money for the purchase of a hospital bed. Mr. and Mrs. Nevel received many other useful gifts in keeping with the silver anniversary. The oldest person in attendance was Mr. Nevel's mother, Mrs. Jennie Nevel Ritter, and his grand nephew, William Harnish of Lock Haven, was the youngest. Friends were present from Lock Haven, Clarion, Monroe, Turkey City, Knox, Braeburn, Kent, St. Petersburg, and the state of Massachusetts.
