Merced Sun-Star, July 5, 1944: Le Grand Man Dies Suddenly - Charles Francis Brown, 67, Le Grand died suddenly Tuesday evening near his home. Death was due to natural causes according to a report filed by Coroner J. C. Brooks. Funeral arrangements are pending at the W. C. Bradford funeral home. Mr. Brown had lived in Le Grand for many years. He made his home with the George Dickenson family. He was born in Green County, Ill. Survivors include two half-sisters, Mrs. Cora Eubanks, Napa and a half-brother, Cleve Turner of Manteca.
