Abigail Jean “Abi” Rupp, 38, died Oct. 14, 2015, at her home in Quincy, Mass.

She was born Feb. 22, 1977, in Salida to Dave and Shari Rupp.

Her mother’s nickname for her was “Snicklefritz.”

She was raised in Bear Creek, where she enjoyed being outdoors, hiking and camping with her dad, her sister Becky and the donkeys.

At 6 years old she said Kermit the Frog was her boyfriend.

Friends and family said she lived her life out loud. She loved animals, especially dogs, and enjoyed bird watching.

She had a dog, Cricket, and a cat, Offelhoffer (Offenhauser).

She enjoyed music, art, poetry, debating, literature, volunteering and helping others.

Ms. Rupp taught English as a second language to immigrants.

She enjoyed sailing in the Massachusetts waters, ethnic cooking, learning, campaigning, gardening, advocating and spending time at the library.

She enjoyed going to the Boston Public Garden and socializing with the people there and debating.

Boston was her home for the second half of her life. She excelled in her studies at University of Massachusetts-Boston and enjoyed various health-conscious and people-oriented jobs, including the farmers market and Whole Foods.

She enjoyed drawing with her fountain pen. Many pieces of correspondence included a little piece of her art.

Friends and family said she will be remembered for her winsome, quirky independent ways and her deep inner desire for love and companionship.

Ms. Rupp was preceded in death by her sister Jennifer Michelle Rupp; nephew Jordan Davidson Kropp; and grandparents, Carl and Vallie Sansen and Henry and Gertrude Rupp.

Survivors include her parents; sisters Laura (Chuck) Ballard, Jynene (Dave) Hartman, Becky Rupp and Sharon Kropp; nieces and nephews Melissa, Brian, Lindsay, CJ, Keely, Tom, Marc, Jessica, Kori, Kacey and Keaton; and her pet friends Bandit, Minnie and Mackie.

A casual outdoor celebration of life gathering will be held for those who knew and loved her and for friends of the family at 2 p.m. Oct. 24, 2015, in the meadow at the Rupp home, 1350 CR 101.
