Edward Charles Wenzel, 81, a former resident of Stevens Point, graduate of PJ Jacobs High School and UW-Stevens Point, died peacefully the morning of September 25, 2015 in Raleigh, NC. An avid lover of music, Ed was an enthusiastic supporter of local jazz and big band musicians and could often be found enjoying many local performances.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Esther; son, Edward (Anita) of Troy, MI; daughter, Anne Eason (Don) of Chesapeake, VA; son, Thomas (Shelly) of Raleigh; daughter, Susan Getter (Marc) of Raleigh; and six grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Louise (William) Carr and Jewel Wenzel. Ed was preceded in death by his parents Edmund J. and Gilda M. Wenzel.
A funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, September 28, 2015, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, in Raleigh, NC.
