115 Squadron's Vickers Wellngton Ic (#R3279) bomber aircraft, with an aircrew of six, took off from RAF Marham in the early evening for an air operation. Upon its return flight, R3279 crashed at sea off Dartmouth, Devon, taking the lives of the entire crew.
