"Mrs Grace W Hipwell, 61, 283 Linden ave, died at the Oil City hospital at 12:25 o'clock this morning after a brief illness. She was stricken with a heart attack yesterday just before being admitted to the hospital at 5:25 pm. Born in Clymer, NY, on November 26, 1881, the daughter of the late Frank W (sic) [D] and Deal W Legtris (sic) [Delia Legters] Wallace, she was united in marriage with Jesse C Hipwell at Portland, NY, in 1903. The family came to Oil City in 1907 and has resided here since. Mrs Hipwell was a member of the Trinity Methodist church, and was active in the Ladies' Bible class and other church organizations. She is survived by her husband and the following children: Ray C and Frederick A Hipwell, of Oil City; Maurice E of Gary, Ind; Mrs Margaret E Byrns, Denver, Col; and Robert T of Rouseville. She also leaves the following brothers and sisters: Mrs Myrtle Stoolfer, Westfield, NY; Sheridan and Blaine W Wallace, of Clymer; Mrs Adelaide E Johnson, Oil City; Mrs Lucy Cook, Jamestown, NY; Mrs Maud Crosscut, Findley Lake, NY; Mrs Lillian Potter, Corry; Robert W Wallace, Fairview and Frank Wallace, of Wilkes-Barre. The body was removed to the Crawford funeral home where it will remain for services which will be announced."

"A funeral service for Mrs Jesse C Hipwell of 283 Linden ave, was held at 1:30 pm Saturday at the Crawford funeral home with Rev Thomas H Morris, pastor of Trinity Methodist church, officiating. During the service he read: 'Abide With Me' and Mrs Harriet Barnsfield and Genevieve Davis sang 'Good Night and Good Morning.' Interment was in Grove Hill cemetery. Pallbearers were: Maynard Hipwell, Adrian Hipwell, William and Paul Clifford, George and William Summers. Among those attending from out of town were: Mrs Margaret Byrns of Denver, Colo; Mrs and Mrs M E Hipwell of Gary, Ind; Mrs Lottie Knott and Mr and Mrs Stoolfer of Westfield, NY; Mr and Mrs Sheridan Wallace, Mr and Mrs Blaine Wallace and Maynard Wallace of Clymer, NY; Mr and Mrs James Crosscut of Findley Lake, NY; Mr and Mrs L Potter and daughter of Corry; Frank Wallace of Wilkes-Barre; Mr and Mrs Robert Wallace and daughter of Fairview; and Mr and Mrs Maynard Hipwell, Mr and Mrs Adrian Hipwell of Titusville; Mr and Mrs Donald Cady of Clymer, NY, and Mr and Mrs Leonard Tripp of Mayville, NY."
