Ronald Walter Aardema, of Grandville, age 89, walked into the open arms of Jesus, Thursday, October 8, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Esther Aardema, his siblings, Ken (Irene) Aardema, Irma (Bob) Buning, Esther Westmaas, Edna (Bill) Koetje; and brother-in-law, Hank Van Houten.

Ron will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 67 years, Fran Aardema (Dantuma); his children, James (Nancy) Aardema, Carol (Garry) Berens, Jerry Aardema, Ken Aardema, Jone Aardema, Cathy (Greg) Dodge; his 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Lois Van Houten, Carroll (Linda) Aardema, Joyce Aardema, Betty (Emo) Winkle; his brother-in-law, Marvin (Char) Westmaas; and many nieces and nephews.
Ron served in the US Army during WWII in the 82nd Airborne-Glider Division. He was an Honorary Member of the American Legion. Ron retired from driving truck for Herman Miller in 1986.

Ron's family will receive visitors from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at Cook Memorial Chapel in Grandville, 4235 Prairie St. SW (East building). Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, October 12, 2015, at Fellowship Reformed Church, 6610 36th Ave. in Hudsonville. Interment will be at Winchester Cemetery.

In honor of Ron, contributions may be made to D.A. Blodgett-St. John's Homes or Sunset Association.
