Mary M. Reifert Moore, 84, of Delphi, died at 6:48 a.m. Oct. 29, 2000.

Born March 6, 1916, she was the daughter of John Paul and Mary M. Randolph Farmer Shuey.

She was a 1935 graduate of Delphi High School and a graduate of Lafayette Beauty Academy.

In 1962 she married Ray E. Moore
in Tennessee and he preceded her in
death on May 21, 1989.

She operated Lester’s Hotel &
Restaurant in the early 1950s, a
beauty shop in Brookston in the
early 1960s, and was a cashier at
Kroger’s and Wallmann’s, retiring in
1978. She had been a beautician for
36 years.

Mrs. Moore was a member of the
Delphi Christian Church, a 50-year
member of Carroll Chapter of the
Order of Eastern Star, and she was
active in Girl Scouts and Cub
Scouts. She also was an avid bowler.

Surviving are one son, David M.
Reifert of Brookston; two daughters,
Mary L. Lytle of Burnettsville and
Virginia L. Cox of Rossville; a
sister, Martha Knitter of Delphi;
14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter and two brothers.

Services are today at 1 p.m. at
Davidson Funeral Home with Pastor
Andy Paris officiating. Burial will be
in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens,
West Lafayette. Memorials may be
made to the Carroll County Cancer
Association.
