Mr. Jimmy Aikens, 86, of Trinity, died Wednesday, October 07, 2015, at High Point Regional Hospital.
Born April 11, 1929, in Sylva, NC, Jimmy was one of thirteen children the late Theodore and Minnie Coward Aikens. He had been formerly employed with SilverCraft, and had owned and operated Aiken Finishing Company, Factory Direct Furniture, and Eagle Creek Development Company. He loved coon hunting, and never met a stranger. He was a loving family man and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Gertrude Shook Aikens, of the home; five children, Beverly Morgan and husband, Dennis, of High Point, Ricky Aikens and wife, Janet, Andy Aikens and wife Carolyn, Keith Aikens and wife, Wanda, all of Trinity, and Kim Ingram and husband, Junior, of Archdale; one sister, Mary Wilson, of Thomasville; 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, officiated by Rev. Randy Ingram. Interment will follow in the Fairview United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
