Frank Joseph was born May 4, 1898 at Templeton, IA, son of Joseph and Bernadine (Axman) Irlbeck. He grew up five miles southwest of Dedham on his family's farm.
On January 15, 1924 he married Odelia "Delia" Mauer in Stacyville, IA. They farmed three miles southwest of Dedham until retiring in 1950. Frank was an auctioneer since he was 21 and kept busy in the profession until 1962.
Frank was a founding member and stockholder of the Farmers Sale Company in Carroll.
Frank and Delia were parents of three children: Clayton, Virginia and Bernice.
