Austin, 85, died at 11:10 a.m., at Briarwood Manor.

He was born to Peter and Calistine (Wagner) Remaklus. On Sept. 19, 1942, he married Loretta Schulte, and she survives.

Also surviving are a son, Jim (Alice), Coldwater; five daughters, Patricia (Marvin) Post, Shirley (George) Koesters, Joan (Maurice) Voskuhl and Ginny Remaklus, all Coldwater, Sue (Dick) Muhlenkamp, St. Anthony and Betty (Ernie) Schoenlein, Portland, IN; three sisters, Leora Laux, Arcadia, IN, Iona Gehle, Celina, and Aletha Johnston, Portland; twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren.

A great-grandson is deceased.

He retired from New Idea in Coldwater after 45 years of service. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3025, all Coldwater. He also was a former member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and a social member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5135, Coldwater.

Funeral Mass was at the church, the Rev. Thomas Mannebach officiating.
