Taking off from RAF Lossiemouth in Scotland, 115 RAF Squadron’s Vickers Wellington 1A (#P2324) aircraft, with an aircrew of six, was shot down by a German fighter aircraft when the Wellington, on an operation searching for enemy shipping off the cost of Denmark, became separated from other RAF aircraft on the same operation.
