Christopher C. Barnette

BLANCHARD, LA – On September 9, 2015 heaven gained its most unique angel. Christopher Causby Barnette, 53, passed away suddenly.

Chris was born August 15, 1962 in Shreveport, LA and was a lifelong resident of Blanchard, LA. Chris was a natural businessman who owned and operated several companies during his life. He graduated from Northwood High School and was an integral part of the Northwood community. Chris was the life of any gathering that he attended and was dearly loved by all who knew him. His fun-loving spirit was contagious. His love of life was only surpassed by his love for his children, Cole, Carson and Connor. Chris was a dedicated father who did whatever it took to never miss a baseball game or any event that his boys were participating in. He was so much more than a father, he was an amazing dad.

Chris was a devoted son, brother, and father who loved his mama, Joy, with all of his heart. He was there whenever Mama needed him and loved to make her laugh. He was always giving her a hard time, while making sure she was taken care of. Chris loved his sister, Robin, like no other brother has ever loved a sister. She was his best friend and he was hers. They remained incredibly close filling their time with lots of laughter until his passing. He will also be missed by family and countless friends. Chris will live on in all of our memories and great stories that only could be true because Chris Barnette was in them.

Chris is survived by his sons, Cole and Carson Barnette, Connor Klotz, and their mother, Lisa Barnette; mother, Joy Barnette of Blanchard; sister, Robin Barnette Terhune; niece, April Terhune Patton, M.D. and husband, Jake; nephew, Chad Terhune and wife, Vanicka and numerous relatives.

He is preceded in death by his father, Claude Causby Barnette known as “Sweet Pea Papa”, grandparents, Claude Felton and Bertha May Barnette and Rufus Alexander and Alice Cornelia Deaton.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Rose-Neath Cemetery, 5185 Swan Lake Rd., Bossier City, LA and will be officiated by Bro. Kevin Moore.

The family suggests memorials may be made to American Heart Association, 745 Olive St., Ste. 111, Shreveport, LA 71104 or the charity of the donor’s choice.
