David Lowell Derry, son of Lowell and Zella (Shawley) Derry, was born on July 26, 1937 in Morenci, AZ. After an eight month battle with cancer, David departed this life for his eternal home on September 6, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents.
David was a graduate of Ponca City Military Academy in Oklahoma. He later went to Mohr Barber College and became a barber in Illinois. Most of his career was spent working with his father and mother in two family owned Ben Franklin stores.
David was a member of South Street Christian Church; however, for the past 26 years he resided at Maranatha Village in Springfield, MO and attended services at the chapel there. He enjoyed volunteering at Maranatha and one year was selected as volunteer of the year. He loved singing in the Village choir.
We will miss his story telling which often began with the phase "and one more thing."
Interment at Richwood Cemetery in Ozark, MO.
