Dying as a result of the air raid he was originally buried Grave 4, Row W, Section D in Maidenhead Cemetery, Berkshire. His funeral and that of his co-worker Harmannus Henderikus Bontjer was attended by both Queen Wilhelmina and Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands.
