Dan was a s/o the late James Adkins. He was also preceded in death by brothers, David Adkins and Dale Adkins. He is survived by his w/o 13 years, Dee Adkins. He was a member of the West Virginia Army National Guard with over 20 years of service to his country. He deployed in 2001 to Afghanistan with the 2nd/19th SFG. He was deployed with the 111th Group in 2003 to Kuwait. Dan was also deployed in 2007 with the 111th EN Bde. He always made people happy, if not in his sense of humor, then with the food he served. He was employed as building maintenance supervisor at the JFRC in Eleanor, WV. He loved the outdoors and fellowship with friends at his home.
