He was born in Athens and raised in Jefferson. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Luke and Elma Lyle. After graduating from Jefferson High School, he attended Georgia Military College and the University of Georgia. Jack served in the United States Army, then entered banking service. He was an officer of First National Bank of Atlanta, C & S National Bank, president of First National Bank of Tarpon Springs, Fla., and ended his career at Pinnacle Bank in Hartwell. He was a member of Hartwell Kiwanis Club.
