Born January 27, 1939, in Pacolet Mills, he was the son of the late Grover Lee and Maggie (Duncan) Sprouse.
Retired from Kohler Company, he was Baptist by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Jean (Pannell) Sprouse; three daughters, Terri S. Loving, Jane M. Sprouse, and Necie Sprouse, all of Pacolet Mills; a sister, Brenda S. Smith of Bradenton, FL; four granddaughters, Shelly Martin of Chesnee, Angel Thompson and Jamie Powell, both of Pacolet, and Tonda Loving of Union; and eight great-grandchildren, Stacey Martin and Mattie Martin of Chesnee, Anthony Gilliam, Jordon Gilliam, Katie Powell, and Katlyne Powell of Pacolet, and Taylor Sawyer and Drew Sawyer of Spartanburg.
He was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth Eugene Sprouse; and a sister, Shirley S. Hodge.
Visitation was 7:00-9:00 PM on Wednesday, August 2, 2006, at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 3, 2006, at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel conducted by the Rev. Dennis Tessnier. Burial was in Pacolet Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Steve Byrd, Jamie Powell, Steve Berry, Steve Gilliam, Brian Martin, and Jerry Horton. Honorary pallbearers will be Otis Bradburn, Jr. and Lewis Inman.
