Joyce Ann Wright Babcock, 54, died of cancer on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the VA Medical Center in Des Moines.
Joyce Ann Wright was born March 10, 1961 in Des Moines to the late Claude A. and Genevieve A. (Young) Wright. While making a home for her family she also delivered papers for the Des Moines Register for seven years. She later worked as a cashier at WalMart from 2003-2004. Joyce attended Evangelical Covenant Church and enjoyed fishing, crocheting and watching wrestling. She liked Indian art and collecting Tinkerbelle memorabilia. She will be remembered as an outgoing, friendly person who was devoted to her family.

In 2007 Joyce married her longtime friend, Wilbert "Bill" Babcock who survives her. She will also be remembered by her son, Gerald James; four step children, Joe Babcock, Sarah (Jeremy) Cornett, Nicholas (Melissa) Stump and Cory Babcock; grandchildren, Andrea Babcock and Christian and Samantha Cornett; brother, Roger L. (Sharon) Wright; and two sisters, Vickie (Charlie) Smith and Cindy (Cliff) Oliver. She was preceded in death by her sister, Carolyn Ellsworth and two brothers, Buck and Jerry Wright.
