Miss Patricia “Pat” M. Berg, Galesburg Chapel 60, of Overland Park, Kansas, formerly of Galesburg, died at 8:37 p.m. Friday, August 21, 2015 in Rosewood Care Center in Galesburg.
She was born October 20, 1954 in Galesburg, the daughter of Wilbur E. and Rosemary (Reeves) Berg.
She is survived by her mother, Rosemary Berg of Galesburg and a sister, Lynn Berg of Evanston, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her father.
Pat graduated from Galesburg High School in 1972 and Knox College in 1976. She continued her education at Olivet Nazarene College, where she majored in Theology and Biblical Literature and graduated in 1983. In 1985, she earned her Master’s Degree in Divinity from Nazarene Theological Seminary.
Pat had worked at Forrest T. Jones and Company, the Overland Park Regional Medical Center, and then at the Physicians Reference Library in Overland Park from 1999 to 2013 as a medical transcriptionist.
Pat had church affiliations with Wesleyan Methodist Church, the Church of the Nazarene, and the Anglican Church. She loved animals, especially her cat Oliver, photography, and handcrafts.
Cremation has been accorded. Memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2015 at the Galesburg First Church of the Nazarene. Dr. Tom Kinnan and Pastor Harold Berrian will officiate. There will be no visitation, but a time of fellowship will be offered following the service at the church. Burial will be at a later date in the Oneida Cemetery, Oneida, Illinois.
