CHARGES ARE PENDING IN FATAL 2 CAR ACCIDENT
Westport - Charges are pending in a Sunday traffic accident which killed Kimberly Sue Davis, 20, Westport, and left two men hospitalized with injuries.
Westport Marshal Greg Allen said tests have been taken from and charges may be filed against Scott Hewitt, 19, Westport, whose auto collided with one driven by Mrs. Davis' husband, Delmar Reece Davis, Jr., 23, also of Westport.
Mrs. Davis was pronounced dead at the scene of internal injuries.
Davis also suffered internal injuries in the accident and was reported to be in stable condition today at Decatur County Hospital. Hewitt suffered head and shoulder injuries and was reported to be in good condition.
Allen said Hewitt was driving southbound on N. Cann Street in Westport when he apparently disregarded a stop sign. His car ran broadside into the passenger side of the Davis auto, which was westbound on Schott Street, a through street.
The impact threw the Davis auto into an utility pole which smashed in the driver's side of the car.
Mrs. Davis' brother, Ricky Spoonamore, 23, was killed in May 1977, in an automobile accident on Ind. 9 and Road 100S.
Funeral service for Mrs. Davis will be conducted by the Rev. Wayne Isaacs at 1 p. m. Wednesday at Bass Funeral Home here, where persons may call after 2 p. m. Tuesday. Burial will be at the Hawcreek Cemetery near Hope.
Mrs. Davis was born Jan. 24, 1961, in Greensburg, to Thomas N. and Evelyn Christie Spoonamore of Westport. She has lived in Westport all her life, attended the Westport Wesleyan Church and South Decatur High School. She was an employee of Cosco, Inc. of Columbus. She was married to Davis on Dec. 1, 1979, in Westport.
Other survivors include a daughter, Chasity Sue Davis, at home; a brother and sister, Kevin and Regina Spoonamore, both of Westport; grandparents, Nettie Fargo of North Vernon route 3; the Rev. and Mrs. W. T. Spoonamore of Freetown route 1; and Jesse Patterson of Milroy.
Note: Kim was pregnant at the time of her death. The baby died with her.
