Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Decenber 15th, 12 Noon at Union Baptist Church. The family visitation starts at 11:00 AM at the church. Burial will follow in Beechwood Cemetery. The family will also receive friends at the home of her niece, 22 Plummer Place.
"Annie Lou" as she was affectioately called, worked at American Tobacco Company and as a domestic for the Sherman and Roberts families. She was a faithful member of Union Baptist Church until he health failed. She was a member of the Senior Choir, Pastor's Aide Society and the Helping Hands Missionary Circle. She was also a member of the Household of Ruth and the Thrifty Savings Club.
Mrs. Alston will be remembered for her strong faith in God, her joy for life, her love for family, her love of flowers and she never forgot to send a loved one a birthday card.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty plus years, Louis A. Alston.
She is survived by a special daughter, J. Bonita Rebeson (Lonnie) of Durham; two special grandchildren, Stephanie Robeson of Durham and Stephone Robeson (Kenneth) of Raleigh; an adopted daughter, Carolyn Pitts Dowdell and adopted son, Frankie Reed (Elizabeth) both of Philadelphia, PA; special friend, Ida Mae Mack of Durham; and many other relatives and friends.
