Dr. Hertzog was a career Medical Corps officer in the US Army Medical Department. He trained in the specialty of Aerospace Medicine, earning the Master of Public Health degree at Harvard University School of Public Health in 1961, followed by graduation from the Residency in Aerospace Medicine at the US Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine in 1962. He had many key assignments in Army medicine, including Commander of the US Army Aeromedical Center and Chief of Professional Services at the Army's Health Services Command. Following retirement from the Army, he served as a staff physician and then Medical Director for the Consol Coal Co. in Pennsylvania. More info to follow.
