Daughter of Josiah Smith Hodgdon and Joan Waterman Starbird.

She married Independence Morrison on 31 Mar 1872 in Sumner, Maine. They had children:

At the 1880 census of Hassan, Minnesota her husband lived there as a laborer, listed as married. He never returned to Maine and she sued him for divorce, citing "utter desertion". The divorce was granted in May 1895 in the Superior Court of Oxford County, Maine.
