Obituary for Minnie Lee Walters
Minnie Lee Walters, age 75, passed away early Sunday morning at Cordell Memorial Hospital. Services have been set for 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church, Altus, OK, with the Reverend C.C. Gober. Burial will be in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Funeral Home.

Miss Walters was born to pioneer parents, James Franklin and Minnie L. Walters, February 11, 1910. She was a dedicated teacher giving 41 years to the children in this area. Lang, Snyder and Eugene Fields schools. She received her B.S. degree at Central State University and her Master's Degree at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Minnie Lee will also be remembered for her volunteer work at the Hospital, Senior Citizens center, her visitations in the nursing homes, and her devotion to her church, the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: one sister, Lucille Barns of Tipton, OK; one niece, Allene Powell of Tipton, OK; two nephews, Claude Walters of Phoenix, AZ and Bud Barnes of Cordell, OK.
