ELKHART -- Violet V. Moriarty, 86, of 3109 E. Bristol St., died at 1:25 a.m. Wednesday (Sept. 24, 2003) at Valley View Health Care Center, where she had been a patient since June 4, 2003.
She was born Aug. 22, 1917, in Moberly, Mo., to the late Fred and Sophia (Vitt) Bohannon.
Mrs. Moriarty is survived by two daughters, Karen Moriarty Poorman of Fort Wayne and Susan Moriarty Barker of Goshen; two sons, James (Deborah Martin) of Union and Robert (Victoria) of Goshen; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Bill (Marilyn) Poth of Florida.
A sister, Maxine Garr, and a brother, Fred Bohannon Jr., are deceased.
Friends may call two hours prior to the 1 p.m. service Friday at the Yoder-Culp Funeral Home in Goshen. The Rev. Bill Sullivan of St. Thomas Catholic Church will officiate, and burial will be in Violett Cemetery in Goshen.
Mrs. Moriarty was a bank teller at Salem Bank in Goshen, and a member of St. Thomas Church.
Memorials may be given to Elkhart General Community Hospice or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
