Margaret was born in Chadron, Nebraska to Robert Denton Cresap and Maudie Mae Axtell Cresap on September 30, 1919.
Margaret married Walter Plummer Wells on Oct. 21, 1946. Together they raised nine children in Aberdeen, South Dakota: Janet (Del) Hildreth, Springville; Jim, Medicine Bow, Wyoming; Tom (Rosanne), Fountain Valley, California; Maudie (Jay) Hill, Spanish Fork; Barb (Wynn) Call, Mesa, Arizona; John (Kelly) Beaumont, California; Margie (Bill) Bergman, Spanish Fork; Earle (Debbie), Springville; Ruth (Mike) Allman, Spanish Fork.
She loved music, art, literature and movies. An accomplished pianist, Margaret taught private piano lessons and adjudicated at piano competitions nationwide. Her creative works included afghans, quilts, needle work, figurines and hand-stamped cards.
Margaret and Paul joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1950, and were sealed in the Manti Temple in 1958. She served faithfully in many callings throughout her life. She and Paul served two temple missions in Washington, D.C.
Margaret is survived by her husband, 9 children, 48 grandchildren and 79 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother Dean, two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
The viewing will be held Friday, November 25, from 10:00 to 10:45 am prior to funeral services at 11:00 am at the Spanish Fork 17th Ward meetinghouse located at 1552 East 750 South, Spanish Fork. Interment will follow at the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
