He was born October 27, 1927 in Stokes County to Tannie and Nathaniel Pratt.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by six sisters: Hazel, Edith, Evelyn, Avis, Essie, and Margaret; and four brothers: June, Earlie, Gene, and Otis.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Voss Pratt; one son, John Stephen (Doris) Pratt of Dobson; one daughter, Karen Pratt (John) Steele of Pinnacle; four grandchildren: Emily (Bradley) Dollyhite, Benjamin Pratt and special friend Allie Pfitzner, John Allen (Samantha) Steele, and Alyson (Kyle) Hall; one great-granddaughter, Brinley Kate Dollyhite; two brothers: Grady (Joann) Pratt of Pinnacle and Delmer Ray (Ineida) Pratt of Clemmons; two sisters,: Ernestine (Richard) Boner of Clemmons and Frances Fulk of Pinnacle.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Pinnacle Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Hall and the Rev. Jeff Wall officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Slate Funeral Home in King.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Forsyth Medical Center, 5th. floor Pulmonary and Cardiac Unit and 8th. floor Palliative Care Center and also to Dr. Petri at Pilot Mountain Medical.
