Niece of Thomas Edison. Born in Port Huron, Michigan, she married William A. Poyer around 1882. They had four children; Lucille (Hoopes/Chappell), Edison Perry, William G., and Charles Edison. After the death of her husband around 1900, she lived in Cleveland, Chicago, and Detroit. Some time before 1920, she and her son William moved back to Port Huron to live with her mother and stepfather, James Eckles. They subsequently moved to Florida where Charles had established residence. She died in Dade County but was buried in Port Huron. Among the nieces and nephews of the famous inventor, Nellie was the most frequent correspondent.
