She married Gustav (Andreevič) Sievers, a merchant in St. Petersburg, on December 11, 1876. Olga Maria (Marie) Sievers (née Mann) form Lübeck, is an aunt of Thomas Mann (1875-1955), a Nobel Prize winner and world-famous author of novels such as "Buddenbrooks: The Decline of a Family" and "The Magic Mountain" (Der Zauberberg). Her sister Elisabeth Mann has inspired Buddenbrook's main female character "Tony Buddenbrook". Olga Maria's personality is commonly attributed to the fictional character "Clara Buddenbrook". Her husband appears in the same novel as the fictional character pastor "Sievert Tiburtius".
