David McKinley Sexton, 78, died July 11, 2015, at his home. He was the son of the late Arlie and Esma Adams Sexton of Sandlick and was a life long resident of Letcher County. He worked as a miner, mine foreman, electrician and security guard for several area mines, He was formerly a Mason and a member of the Sandlick Volunteer Fire Department.
David was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Wanda Marshall Sexton, and a much loved son-in-law, Monroe Jamison. Survivors include: two daughters, Daveena Sexton of Abingdon, Virginia, Stephanie Williams and husband Michael Williams of Sharps Chapel, Tennessee; one granddaughter, Hannah Jamison (Russell Waddell) of Lexington, Kentucky, two sisters, Shirley Sizemore of Whitesburg, Kentucky and Hilda Adams of Shepherdsville, Kentucky; four sister-in-law, Deborah Marshall of Greenville, South Carolina, Joyce Rich of Knoxville, Tennessee and Sue Sexton and Glenna Sexton both of Whitesburg, Kentucky and numerous of other family and friends. Officiated by : Van Webb Burial in the Sexton Cemetery, at Sandlick, KY.
