Eddie was the son of George Allen and Isadora Simmons.

PFC Simmons began his Vietnam tour on 30 August 1968 and was attached to the Army's 1st Infantry Division, 2nd Battalion, 18th Infantry Regiment, Company E.

PFC Simmons drowned near the Gia Dinh Province.

The loss of Eddie forever remains in the hearts of his 5 siblings and remaining family. Those that never had the opportunity to know him, have the memories of stories told keeping his legacy alive to date.
